Hurriyat (G) condemns youth’s killing, takes ‘strong note’ of youth enforcing shutdown during relaxation

SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Sunday condemned the killing of Wardwan youth, Javid Ahmad Dar, who was injured by the government forces.
Hurriyat (G) also condemned “daily killings, widespread arrests and brutalities” by the government armed forces and police in Kareemabad, Pulwama, where several people got injured.
“On one hand, the Indian armed forces along with the local police at the behest of yes-men of Indian ferociousness have crossed all the limits of cruelty and mercilessness in curbing the just voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and on the other hand the followers of Chankiya’s politics continue to beat the drum of talks just to mislead the innocent people,” the conglomerate said in a statement issued here.
Hurriyat (G) said that by everyday’s “bloodbath” especially in their own constituencies, a “little disturbance shows their callous and indurate attitude, withering away their people friendly mask, they have been riding on since their inception into politics”.
Converting the whole Valley into a “garrison” and a “big prison” stood testimony to the fact that “Indian rulers and their local collaborators” have lost the “moral, human and democratic” presence in Kashmir, it said.
“This is the only reason they can’t tolerate the echo of Azadi reverberating in each and every street here,” it added.
While condemning the arrests, slapping of PSA on more than 175 people, including kids, and shifting them away from the Valley, the conglomerate said, “This is gross violation of rules and regulations laid by their own supreme court, where in it has been clearly stated that arrested persons be kept in their own localities so that their families can meet them regularly”.
Hurriyat (G) said that they were being kept with criminals and other convicts.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (G) said it has taken a “strong note” of some youths compelling the shopkeepers for shutdown during the relaxation hours.
“This period (of relaxations) is part of the programme and is meant to get the essential commodities, as whole nation is willfully in the struggle and the relaxation time is just a respite in the hard and strict restrictions. Whosoever violates the joint programme is not a well wisher of the movement,” it said.
