Asiya sends video message to OIC on ‘volatile’ Kashmir situation

SRINAGAR: Chairperson Dukhtaran-e-Millat Asiya Andrabi has dispatched a video message about the ‘volatile’ situation in Jammu and Kashmir to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Asiya, along with chairmen of Hurriyat Conference—Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq—have been invited along with Masood Khan (‘president Azad Jammu & Kashmir’) Raja Farooq Haider (‘Prime Minister Azad Jammu & Kashmir’) and Ishtiyaq Hameed (‘True Representative of Kashmiri people’) for the Annual coordination meeting as well as the Meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir to be held during 71st United Nations General Assembly  (UNGA) at the UN headquarters in New York from September 19- 22.
“Due to unavailability of travel documents and prevailing situation in Kashmir, it is impossible for Mrs Andrabi to attend the meetings,” said Nahida Nasreen, General Secretary of DeM.
“While thanking for invitation she has dispatched a video message describing volatile situation of Indian ‘occupied’ Kashmir,” Nasreen said in a statement issued here.
