SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Saturday expressed grief and anguish over the fresh killings in Kashmir Valley.
In a statement issued here, he described the killing of three civilians as “cold blooded murder”, and “manifestations of naked and brute aggression by a totalitarian regime, which is at war against unarmed inhabitants, whom it has kept captive and suppressed for their territory”.
He questioned the silence of the international community, saying it has “emboldened the Indian state further”.
Paying tributes to the killed youths, he said: “The nation owes it to these brave men and to their supreme sacrifice of life that the great cause of freedom and justice for Kashmir be carried on by all till the attainment of these lofty ideals.”
He expressed hope that these “sacrifices” will bear fruit and Kashmiris will see the “dawn of freedom”, provided “we stay united, firm in our resolve, and patient”.
