‘Muslim women must carry traditional weapons for self defence’
Srinagar: Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, on Saturday said that the killing of three persons since September 9 indicated that New Delhi has “declared a full-fledged war against the people of Kashmir”.
“It seems that the government of India has ordered its puppets in JK to suppress the voices using all-possible means that are raised against the illegal occupation,” she said in a statement issued here.
Andarbi said that sending more battalions of army and paramilitary forces to J&K proves that “India has decided to launch a bloody military offensive against Kashmiris”.
“On ground, the preparation are being made. South Kashmir is being handed over to army and more forces are being sent here with a sole aim that they want to crush this ongoing resistance movement by killing as many Kashmiris as they want,” she said.
Dukhtaran chief also urged the women of Kashmir to carry traditional weapons such as axes, knives, and daggers for their safety against government forces.
“Our chastity is dear to us than our lives,” she said, citing the incident of a mother, in Pulwama, saving her daughter by using an axe.
“She said that though the lady from Pulwama was seriously injured but her bravery saved her daughter from the clutches of these… beastly CRPF men. So, it is appealed to all the Muslim women of Kashmir to carry along weapons like knives, axes, daggers etc to safeguard their chastity and dignity,” she said.
Carrying these weapons has, she said, become a necessity.
The Muslim women of Kashmir must keep in mind that they “are under the occupation of a country, which is infamous across the world for crimes against women”, she said.
