Hajj Pilgrims start converging in Mina

Mina: About 1.5 million pilgrims, including 102,000 domestic pilgrims, in white seamless dress started streaming into Mina at dawn on Saturday (8th Dhul Hijjah) to spend the Tarwiyah (Watering) Day in the tent city before heading for the plains of Arafat at the crack of dawn on Sunday in the climax of the annual pilgrimage.
Chanting “Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik”, the pilgrims started gathering in Mina, located 7 km north east of the Haram Mosque, where  they will spend the day and night of Saturday in their fireproof tents, allocated for them by their respective Tawafa establishments.
Hajj security forces have taken several measures to ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims from Makkah to Mina, totaling nearly 1.5 million pilgrims from 60 nationalities around the world.
Hajj security forces, medical teams and civil defense units in Mina have already completed all preparations to receive the Guests of Allah, and have taken several measures for the grouping process of pilgrims in the tent city.
The Hajj Security Committee held its third meeting on Friday to discuss security, preventive and emergency plans, in order to achieve integration and coordination of efforts between the military and security sectors during the pilgrimage season in Makkah, Madinah and the holy sites, and to ensure the readiness of forces to perform their duties in the best manner.
The General Authority for Meteorology and Environmental Protection has also completed its environmental inspection tours at the holy sites of Arafat and Mina, in order to ensure commitment of the businesses and facilities by the environmental regulations and requirements for the safety of pilgrims. The inspection tours covered factories, slaughterhouses, Hajj campaigns, Tawafa establishments and companies operating in Hajj.
