Amid curbs thousands attend pro-freedom rally in Pulwama, 35 wounded

Anantnag: At least thirty five people were injured during the clashes after the government forces tried to stop a freedom-cum-unity rally in Muran village of Pulwama.

Witnesses said that the forces raided and vandalized the rally venue early in the morning triggering clashes. Forces resorted to intense tear gas shelling and pellet firing causing injuries to at least thirty five people. They were rushed to district hospital Pulwama where from four of them have been referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment. Witnesses said that the forces after facing stiff resistance from the people fled the spot but not before ransacking the houses in the area. Thousands of people despite restrictions have arrived at the venue to listen to the representatives of different religious and resistance groups.
