Srinagar: Mohammad Rafiq, a resident of Lal Bazar, and his two children, daughter Bareen, 4, and son Zaffar, 5, were injured when government forces shot pellets at them at Nalbal Bridge, Nowshehra.
The victims were riding a scooty when shot. Bareen told Kashmir Reader, “Hum petrol barne ja rahe thay policewalon ne pellet lagayee (we were going to a petrol pump when the police fired).”
Bareen has a pellet in her left eye, an ophthalmologist at the SMHS Hospital said. Zaffar has pellet wounds in the upper abdomen, right shoulder, face and legs and the father pellet wounds in chest, abdomen and face.
