Forces ‘brutalising’ Kashmiris ahead of all-party visit: Dukhtaran

SRINAGAR: General Secretary of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Nahida Nasreen, on Saturday said that, ahead of the visit of the Indian all-party delegation to Kashmir, the government forces have “unleashed brutality in its worst form across Kashmir”.
“I want to ask this shameless puppet chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti, that which camp was this 5-year-old girl attacking that she was fired at with hundreds of pellets from a close range,” Nasreen said in a statement issued here.
She termed the injuries inflicted on the protesters in the last 24 hours as the “brutality in its worst form”.
“All this is done to break the resolve of people of JK from pursuing the resistance movement going against the illegal Indian occupation for the past two months,” she said.
She said that people in Kashmir and in the Muslim majority belt of Jammu have deiced that “they will take this movement to its logical conclusion”.
“India, its forces and the stooges can go to any extent to brutalise Kashmiris, but this brutality won’t break our resolve but strengthens it,” she added.
Nasreen condemned the arrest of Dukhtaran chief Asiya Andrabi’s brother, Syed Mohammad Tauha Andrabi, from his residence.
“He was arrested without being given any reason. Prior to this his brother-in-law, Pervaiz Maqbool Shah Sahib, was arrested and he has been languishing in the Central Jail for the past two months,” she added.
Nasreen said that their fault “is that, like every Kashmiri, this family also wants to see an end to the Indian occupation and live a free life”.
