Pakistan disappointed over ‘just concerned’ stance of US on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan prime minister’s adviser on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, said the United State must start condemning human rights violation in Kashmir instead of just expressing concern over the decade-old dispute.
In an interview with BBC Radio, he said it was “extremely disappointing” that there was no word of condemnation over the killings of Kashmiris in the Valley from global advocates of human rights including the US. He said Kashmiris themselves would resolve the Kashmir dispute and no one could hold them back from fighting for freedom. Amid weakening Pak-US relationship, he admitted that there was a change of stance in Washington’s policy towards Islamabad particularly with greater Chinese influence in Pakistan.
