Mother, son injured as tear smoke shell lands in Kitchen at B’pora

Bandipora: A woman and her son were injured after a tear smoke shell, fired by police landed inside the kitchen of their residential house near Plan area in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday.

Eyewitnesses said hundreds of youth took to streets and staged massive anti-India protests. They had placed blockades on the road and burnt used-tyres.

A police team arrived in the area and started massive tear smoke shelling, allegedly firing some towards the residential houses. One of the shells landed in kitchen of a family, resulting into injuries to a woman, Nasreena, and her 9th standard student son. Both were rushed to hospital by the other family members.
