SRINAGAR: Condemning the slapping of PSA on president Beopar Mandal Singhpora, Altaf Ahmad Waza, Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) led by Muhammad Yasin Khan on Monday asked the government to release him or face “the fury of business community”.
“Waza happens to be a representative of the business community. PSA has been slapped on him and he has been shifted to Kathua. This is aggression of the state government to frighten the Kashmir Inc, but such tactics can’t suppress us,” Khan, who also heads the Kashmir Traders and Manufactures Federation (KTMF), said in a statement issued here.
He said the government has started “harassing” the traders’ community, but let it be clear “to the oppressive rulers that trade fraternity will continue to support Hurriyat programme till the last breath”.
He also condemned the slapping of PSA on Advocate Babar, a youth leader from Kishtwar, while he also sought immediate release of employees’ leaders including Abdul Qayoom Wani.
“Some of the ministers and officials are acting as more loyal than the king and are part of such conspiracies of jailing our brethren. Nothing is going unnoticed,” Khan said, ridiculing the government’s claims of Jamhooriyat.
“Is slapping PSA on genuine voices of people democratic?” he sought to ask asked the state government and New Delhi.
