Mirwaiz asks people to remain steadfast at ‘sensitive phase’ of uprising

SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Monday asked people to remain “extremely cautious” at the current “sensitive phase” of the ongoing uprising in Kashmir.
Mirwaiz, who is lodged in the Cheshmashahi sub-jail, said that Kashmir’s struggle for right to self determination has entered into a “sensitive phase” in which the leadership as well as the people have to remain “united, steadfast and extremely cautious in order to take the Kashmir issue to its logical conclusion”.
Stressing that “oppression in the form of violence, arrests and house arrests” cannot keep Kashmiris from demanding their basic rights or carrying forward their ‘resistance movement’, Mirwaiz said, “These tactics would not cow down the people or the leadership into submission”.
Appealing people to “stay vigilant” of the “anti-resistance” and “anti-unity” forces and those indulging in “rumour mongering and false propaganda”, the Hurriyat (M) chairman urged the people to follow the programmes given by the unified pro-freedom leadership in letter and spirit.
