BHADERWAH: Even as the truckers called off their strike, Bhaderwah town continued to reel under the shortage of fuel on Monday.
Long queues of customers could be seen at the petrol stations most of which are running dry.
“I have been trying to get petrol for my bike for the last two hours, but there seems little hope. Most petrol pumps here do not have fuel,” a young man waiting for his turn at the petrol pump near Udrana said.
Most petrol stations in the town remained closed, while a few others only have only expensive varieties of petrol and diesel available. It is expected to take authorities a day or two to transport petrol to Bhaderwah.
Shazia Begum, a woman driver, said that she could find petrol at two stations she visited.
“I may not be able to go to work,” she said. The shortage of fuel is causing people a lot of problems.
An auto-rickshaw driver said: “I could barely manage to take a patient to hospital with limited fuel. People here are suffering due to fuel crisis.”
