Kashmir: protests continue amid strict curfew

Srinagar: Protests are going on in severals parts of Kashmir on Thursday against the civilian killing in the ongoing anti-India uprising.

In Batamaloo, people held a sit-in while pro-freedom songs are being played on loudspeakers. In south Kashmir, protests are also going while strict curfew has been enforced in towns.

In Shaar Shali village of Pampore, scores of people have reached to participate in the funeral prayers of slain Shabir Ahmad, who was beaten to death by the government forces on Wednesday night. At least 86 people have been injured by the forces in the area during nocturnal raid. At least 40 injured have been shifted to Srinagar hospitals.
