New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley may skip a regional summit of SAARC Finance Ministers in Islamabad next week.
News agency ANI reported that instead of Jaitley, economic affairs secretary, Shaktikanta Das, would represent India, quoting government sources.
But later media reports said prime minister, Narendra Modi, would take a final call on the issue.
The move is being seen as an expression of India’s discomfort with the way Islamabad treated union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during a SAARC conference of home ministers earlier this month.
Finance Ministers of SAARC are scheduled to meet on 25th and 26th of this month in Islamabad.
