Azadi camp amends program, calls for 72-hr UN march

Asks world body not to be ‘mute spectator’ to  Kashmiris ‘genocide’

Srinagar:  Resistance leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik on Wednesday called for 72 hour march, beginning tomorrow,  towards the UN office.

In a Joint statement issued here, they said that as the “killer forces” have escalated killing spree by murdering 7 more innocent civilians and injuring hundreds since yesterday, the joint resistance program has been amended.

“People from all parts of the state are asked to come out on roads and start a 72 hour march towards the UN office from tomorrow morning. Where ever the forces stop them from moving forward they should sit on the road, hold placards and protest peacefully for 72 hours,” they said. As the UN, they said, is duty bound to fulfill its promise to the people of the state, the march is a reminder to the world body to stop being a “mute spectator of the genocide of Kashmiris and fulfill the commitments made to them.”
