Kashmir: Doctors in Mehbooba’s hometown protest ‘high handedness’ of police officer

ANANTNAG : Doctors and Paramedics posted at sub-district hospital Bijbehara, chief minister’s home town on Saturday held protest against what they termed high handedness of SHO Bijbehara.

The doctors and Paramedics posted at the hospital staged a sit-in within the hospital premises and suspended the work for two hours. They alleged that  the SHO Arshad Khan last evening detained the hospital ambulance ferrying the injured youth to Srinagar in police station for two hours. The police officer, the protesting doctors alleged also abused and threatened the doctor on night duty who had requested him to release the ambulances over phone.
They later resumed the work after the deputy commissioner Anantnag assured them of looking into the matter.
