Says some sections of Indian media cooking up stories

SRINAGAR: Muzafar Ahmad Wani, father of slain Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani, described the reports by carried by some New Delhi-based newspapers and channels about his participation in pro-freedom rallies a “blatant lie”, saying, “I have never moved out of my village since Burhan was martyred’.
“I am shocked to see the reports in some national newspapers and debates on news channels about my leading a pro-freedom rally in Pampore area few days back. The reality is that since the martyrdom of my son, I have never moved out of my village,” Wani told Kashmir Reader over phone.
Except going to Masjid, which is few yards away from his home, he said, he does not move out of his house.
“My two sons have achieved martyrdom. And now I want to take care of my daughter and the lone son. But a section of national media is cooking up stories against me. I fail to understand their intentions,” Wani said.
He said that he is not any leader to lead pro-freedom rallies. “I am a common man like any other Kashmiri. I just want these national channels and newspapers to stop cooking up stories and spreading lies for their interests,” Wani said.
