Mirwaiz pays tributes to martyrs, appeals people to reach Eidgah tomorrow

Srinagar: Paying glowing tributes to Shaheed-e-Azeemat, Sheikh Abdul Aziz and all the martyrs of 2008 uprising on their eighth martyrdom anniversary,  Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday said resistance movement was at a sensitive and crucial phase of history that calls for showing steadfastness and unity.

In a statement, Mirwaiz while paying tributes to the martyrs of summer uprisings of 2008, 2010 and 2016 and all the martyrs Kashmir’s resistance movement, Mirwaiz said the ongoing resistance movement is in continuation of the movement from 1990 in general and 2008 and 2010 uprisings in particular during which the nation offered countless sacrifices of lives and properties and kept the movement alive.

“The biggest tributes that people could pay to the martyrs of Kashmir was to exhibit unity, steadfastness and resolve to take their struggle for just rights forward despite hardships. The freedom-loving people of Kashmir to follow the programmes given by the unified resistance leadership in letter and spirit and make their bond with the resistance movement stronger to repay the martyrs for their contributions,” he said.

Mirwaiz appealed people to head toward Martyrs Graveyard at Eidgah on Thursday and pay tributes to Shaheed-e-Azeemat, Shaheed-e-Millat, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat, and all martyrs of Kashmir and resolve to take the mission of the martyrs forward.
