SRINAGAR: Asking J&K Police to behave “differently” from army and CRPF, AIP chief and MLA Langate Er Rasheed Monday expressed his deep anger and anguish over the use of force against protestors in Langate and Kralgund areas yesterday.
Pertinently, at least 92 persons were injured on Sunday evening in Langate area when forces used bullets and pellets on protestors. Five of the injured are admitted in SMHS Srinagar.
In a statement issued today Er Rasheed said, “Police force need not to forget that they have to live and die with the same society, they are in confrontation on streets of Kashmir and must understand that it is not a law and order problem. Every policeman must be feeling from core of his heart that Kashmiris are not fighting their individual rights. It is high time when every jawan and officer of J&K police should revisit his behavior while dealing with his own people and must not lose his cool under worst circumstances and should not forget that in every area their own family members and beloved children are leading or participating the protests, as such no Kashmiri can afford isolating their own fellow citizens wearing uniform.”
