Srinagar: Syed Ali Geelani has asked Hajj pilgrims not to start the pilgrimage by meeting and shaking hands with government officials and politicians whose “hands are soaked in the fresh blood of our innocent youth”.
He appealed to the pilgrims to “at least show your maturity” this time and uphold the moral values “and ignore these killers” at the time of departure and arrival of your holy journey.
Geelani Sahab further requested them to offer special prayers during Hajj for Islam and “Azadi of their oppressed nation.”
Ruling party members and top government oficials make it a point to see Hajis off and receive them at the airport on completion of the pilgrimage. The resistance camp has been accusing pro-India politicians of collaborating with India in suppressing Kashmiri freedom struggle.
