Kashmir: Strangling one’s throat cannot suppress conscience, says Jamaat

Srinagar: Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) said that India is utilizing its might to suppress the just voice of Kashmiris ignoring the fact that by strangling one’s throat, one’s conscience cannot be suppressed.
In a statement issued to KNS, Advocate Zahid Ali, Spokesperson, Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) said that Indian establishment has been employing various tactics and gimmicks since 1947 to make people here forget demanding their birth right of self-determination promised to them through UN resolutions for passing of which India played a leading role. But with the passage of only a few years, India distracted from its promises though the resolutions are still alive in the relevant records and India has to abide by its pledge today or tomorrow. Now Indian government is bent upon turning its occupation into a permanent form quite against all moral and diplomatic etiquettes by dint of force.
He said nowhere pellet guns are used for suppressing the public agitation but against the peaceful agitation of Kashmiri Muslims, these fatal weapons are freely used in a very inhuman way with the result that more than sixty youth got killed and thousands injured out of whom the eye sight of about two hundred has been very badly affected and hundreds others have become partially or totally disabled.
The hospitals in the valley are fully packed with the injured and everywhere people express deep pain and every soul looks sad. India forces are crossing all limits of mercilessness and it seems they are deprived of human hearts. Everyday human blood is spilt without any consideration that those killed and badly injured are unarmed and protest peacefully.
Spokesperson said that in Cheeh, Islamabad village, even before the start of the public meeting, the forces along with police raided the venue and uprooted the tents and ruthlessly beat the assembled people and fired upon them injuring about forty innocent persons including a number of womenfolk on the spot.
Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir (JeI) expressing its deep sorrow over the meaningful silence of the world nations including UNO, OIC and the human rights institutions over the crucial and painful situation the people of Kashmir are facing, impresses upon them to send high-level delegations to observe the anti-human attitude of India towards the hapless and helpless civilians here and use their diplomatic influence to get this government sponsored brutality stopped and help the people here to get their birth right of self-determination as promised to them to end the conflict once for all.
