‘State terror unleashed in parts of Kashmir’

SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (M) on Thursday said that “state terror” was unleashed on the people in Damhal Hanjipora, Pahalgam, and other adjoining areas including Amirabad Tral and Palhallan where dozens of motorcycles and vehicles were set on fire and residential houses damaged.
Reiterating that Kashmir’s “resistance” movement was “indigenous” in character, a spokesperson of the conglomerate said that despite limited resources, the “unarmed and peaceful people of Kashmir were carrying forward this movement for fulfillment of their basic right of right to self determination”.
The spokesman condemned the continuous house arrest and detentions of the pro-freedom leaders including that of the conglomerate’s chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik.
The spokesperson appealed the people to make ‘Dargah Hazratbal Chalo’ programme, given by the unified pro-freedom leadership, a success.
