SRINAGAR: Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi, on Thursday said that the “cold-blooded murder” of Riyaz Ahmad Shah of Chattabal, Srinagar, by the government forces has disproved the claims that government forces “kill people in self-defense”.
“The martyrdom of Farooq Ahmad of Lethpora and Riyaz Ahmad Shah of Chattabal and the brutality unleashed by Indian forces in Kulgam injuring more than 150 people is yet another example of Indian oppression and brutality. These acts are highly condemnable,” Andrabi said in a statement issued here.
“The killing of Riyaz Ahmad Shah exposes that Indian forces here are only trigger happy who enjoy killing Kashmiris. It is an eye-opener for those who justify killing of innocent civilians by forces as an act of self-defense,” she added.
She said that “the shameless puppet chief minister”, Mehbooba Mufti, continued to justify these “cold-blooded murders”.
“What is happening in Kashmir is barbaric and ugliest form of repression. Who and what were these brutal forces defending when they fired on the Riyaz, who was riding to home from work on his scooter?” she asked.
The Dukhtaran chief said that the attack on the massive pro-freedom rally in Kulgam was “nothing but a worst form of state-sponsored terrorism”.
“Is there no shame and conscience left in the puppet CM and the local ministers? For how long would these people continue to crush the resistance movement by killing innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir,” she said.
She said that the pro-freedom resistance leadership would continue its struggle and there was still time for the people like Mehbooba to “join the movement and repent their crimes committed against the people of Kashmir”.
She urged the Muslims of Chenab Valley, Kkargil, and Jammu to follow the programmes issued by the leadership.
She also urged the pro-freedom leadership to announce programmes that are in complete sync with the aspirations of the people.
“It is imperative because the people here have decided to take this movement to its logical conclusion by following the leadership. It is evident from their actions,” she said.
“People in few areas of Srinagar city are also urged to completely follow the programme calendar without fail,” she said.
