Srinagar: Tens of thousands of people participated in a massive pro-freedom rally in Arwani, an area close to Bijbehara town, the native place of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. Three armed militants appeared at the gathering and asked people to follow the protest programme of the joint resistance leadership.
“You should not go against the pro-freedom leadership and whosoever goes against them especially Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik will be considered as the enemy of ongoing movement,” said one of the militants.
In his over 10-minute speech, the militant with his face covered mocked Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
“She used to shed crocodile tears at the funerals of militants and now she is carrying out genocide of the Kashmiris. She will have to pay the price of her doings,” he said.
The militant also warned police to mend their ways failing which they would have to face the ramifications.
“Policemen should stop committing atrocities against people and if they don’t they will have to face the consequences”
Earlier militants had sufaced in Kaimoh area of Kulgam and Kareemabad area of Pulwama during pro-freedom rallies.
The militant also hailed the unity among religious sects, who are holding congregations in south Kashmir.
“Offer prayers and follow teachings of Islam. You should set an example,” the militant said.
