Kashmir: Government employees say they are part of ‘people’, condemn killings

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Sidco Employees Association on Tuesday expressed deep concern over 50 civilian killings and continuous curfew in Kashmir by the government forces.

In a statement, the employees body president Ab Majid Reshi said  use of pellet gun, pepper gas on peaceful protesters is anti-human and “worst kind of state barbarism”. He expressed his sympathy and solidarity with the families who lost their young ones and injured persons who lost their eyesight.

“Employees are the part of public and it is our moral responsibility to raise voice against in-human acts,” Reshi said while pleading for ban on pellets. The employees union also visited several hospitals in the Valley to enquire about injured people.
