SRINAGAR: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Monday convened a meeting of its representatives regarding the joint resistance leadership’s programme of organising of Dua-e-Majlis by women (from Asr to Maghrib prayers) on August 2 (Tuesday).
In a statement issued here, DeM Chairperson Syeda Aasiya Andrabi said party representatives across Jammu Kashmir, in a meeting, were directed to enhance efforts vis-à-vis Dua-e-Majlis by organising gatherings of women across the State besides ensure their participation in anti-India protests.
Andrabi hailed people for showing resilience and steadfastness during the last 24 days. She said despite continuous curfew and restrictions, the people of Kashmir didn’t show any kind of lethargy but their pro-freedom spirit only rejuvenated.
She said employees without succumbing to any kind of pressure “must not violate the protest programme”. “People people must register strong protests against the arrest of innocent youths. The whole population of Jammu Kashmir demands freedom from India,” she said. The DeM chief also welcomed the joining of resistance camp by NC leader Iftikhar Hussain Misgar who resigned on Sunday. “Other pro-India politicians and activists must follow the suit,” she said.
