SRINAGAR: Authorities in Baramulla have asked treasuries to withhold salaries of those government
employees who have not attended to their duties during the ongoing anti-India uprising.
Barring seven departments, including police, and a few others maintaining essential services, salaries of other employees working with other departments will be put on hold till they get clearance from senior officials.
An order to this effect issued by DC Barmulla Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash on Sunday has asked the District Treasury Officer to release salary of employees working with the Roads and Buildings department, Public Health Engineering Department, Power Development Department, Health, Treasury, Revenue and Police.
The order reads that it has been observed that most of the employees of various departments in the District have not attended to their duties for the past 20 days.
Such employees have been asked to produce attendance certificate from their controlling officers of the district and head of the departments concerned vetted by the deputy commissioner before their salary is released.
It further called for disseminating such information to the subordinate treasuries in the district.
Since July 8, when HM commander Burhan Wani was killed, most of the valley areas including that of Baramulla had been placed under curfew.
