Mann, SAD activists stopped from going to J&K

Kathua (J&K): All India President of Shiromani Akali Dal Simranjeet Singh Mann and 50 party activists were on Monday detained and stopped from going to Kashmir at an inter-state toll plaza in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district.

The activists, led by Mann, in half a dozen vehicles, were on their way to Kashmir from Amritsar and were detained at Lakhanpur of the district, police said.

The activists staged a protest at Lakhanpur while raising slogans to restore peace and stop atrocities in Kashmir.

“We are going to Kashmir with a message of peace and want to talk to all sections of society, government, public, hurriyat conference and other parties as other political parties have failed to restore peace in the state,” Mann said.

He also condemned the using of pellet gun on protesters in Kashmir.
