Forces smash car, injure driver, minor

Srinagar: Men from the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police smashed a Maruti car at Litter Pulwama on Friday morning and injured its driver and a 4-year-old-boy.
The family, that included women, was heading towards , Soura from Sangam, Anantnag (Islamabad) for a check-up of a diabetic elderly lady.
The victim said that forces banged his car and harassed his family members including his wife and mother.
“As soon as I reached Litter, around 20 forces personnel cornered us and starting pounding my car from all the sides. My family was terrified by the forces’ brutality,” he said.
He said that he and his family pleaded and cried repeatedly that they have a patient in the car but, he said, ‘forces saw and heard nothing but went on ruthless beating’.
“My mother was horrified and was weeping continuously. She fainted and almost died. They (forces) showed no humanity,” he said.
A 4-year old boy of the family sustained injuries in his eye when he was hit by a piece of broken windshield. The child received six stitches and has been advised rest.
“For about ten minutes, they terrified us. Possibly they were drunk. Nobody came to our rescue,” he said.
The man said that he showed forces all the medical details and cards related to his mother’s illness but they without listening anything, threw them away and hit his head with bamboo sticks.
The man with his head bandaged and is receiving treatment at SKIMS Soura. “My mother and wife are still in shock,” he said.
