Kashmir: death toll reaches 17

Srinagar: Among scores of injured admitted in hospitals across the Valley, five wounded people have succumbed to the their wounds since last night. With these deaths, toll has reached 17.

Medical Superintendent SHMS Hospital Dr Nazir Choudhary told Kashmir Reader that three injured people from south Kashmir died late last night. A fresh inmate from Pulwama brought to the hospital on Sunday morning also succumbed, he said adding “six more injured are critical”.

SKIMS Medical Superintendent Dr Farooq Jan said an injured Mashooq Ahmad of Qazingund died last night.

Meanwhile, curfew has been imposed across Kashmir to prevent escalation of protests.
