Geelani continues to remain caged

Srinagar: Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference  continued to remain under house detention on Friday. Geelani  missed all the Friday prayers in the holy month of Ramadan and also Eid-ul-Fitr congregational prayers due to his continued detention.
A Huriyat (G) statement said that it is the 15th Friday in 2016 when the 86 years old pro-freedom leader was forcibly stopped by the authorities to take part in this important religious obligation. While terming the government actions as state terrorism and interference into the religious affairs, Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar condemned it in strong words and said that the Mohamad Ashraf Sehrai and Shabir Ahmad Shah too were under continuous detention in the month of Ramadan.
