Gulistan FC downs Kachan FC in summit clash

SRINAGAR: Gulistan Football Club (Ganderbal) pull off a sensational 2-1 victory over Kachan Football Club in the summit clash of Annual Football League tournament played at the Sher Pather Football Stadium, Ganderbal on Friday.
After a listless first half devoid of any thrill, Gulistan FC got the better of Kachan FC in the 64th  minute when Nazir Ahmad beat the off side trap and cut past Kachan FC goalkeeper to score first goal of the match.
Gulistan FC which dominated the second half had better scoring chances and in the 75th minute of the game doubled the lead when their striker Jan Mohammad put the ball in the net.
Kachan FC did made several moves and tasted success in the second half when their mid-fielder Irfan Ahmed scored the lone goal for the losing side though in the dying moments Kachan FC made several attempts from both flanks to score equalizer    but the strong defence of Gulistan FC thwarted their moves.
Gulistan FC maintained the lead till the final whistle blew.
President of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association Zameer Thakur who was the chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony and gave away the prizes
The tournament was organised by District Football Association, Ganderbal in which 11 teams took part and  a total of 32 matches were played.
