SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, on Thursday paid tribute to martyrs of Shalbaf Tehreek in which 28 artisans and shawl weavers were killed by Maharaja’s forces in Srinagar.
In a statement issued here, Malik said the “massacre reminds us that Kashmiris always resisted tyranny and occupation and stood firm for independence of their nation”.
He also paid tributes to JKLF’s Muhammad Haneef Aamir, who was killed in 1991.
A party delegation comprising visited his residence and expressed solidarity with his family.
Malik also expressed grief over the demise of veteran JKLF activist Sabir Ahmad Ganiee (alias Chacha) of Kulgam, who breathed his last on Thursday.
He paid tributes to the deceased and expressed condolences with the bereaved family.
