JAMMU: Deputations from Leh and Inderwal met National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah in Jammu on Tuesday and apprised him about the party functioning in these areas. They brought to his notice various problems confronted in the areas on account of development and utility services.
Deputation from Leh was led by senior leader and former minister Tsetan Namgayal.
The former minister expressed concern over the implementation of National Food Security Act, saying this has deprived a large chunk of rationees of much needed support. He sought interference of the National Conference President in seeking rollback of the Act.
Provincial President National Conference Jammu Devender Singh Rana was also present on the occasion.
A delegation from Inderwal Assembly Constituency, led by Salam-ud-Din, who contested 2014 elections as National Conference candidate, brought to the notice of Dr Abdullah the highly dilapidated condition of roads in the area and erratic power and water supply.
He expressed dismay over scarcity of rations and the hardships caused to the people on account of NFSA.
