Srinagar: It was a pleasant morning in the summer capital on Saturday with partly overcast sky with the meteorological department predicting light rains and thundershowers for the day.
“The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rains or thundershowers with thunder squal may occur in some areas, ” a MeT official told Kashmir Reader adding that hail would occur at isolated places over the state.
Officials said since yesterday Srinagar received a rainfall of 0.5 mm while as Qazigund and Pahalgam received a rainfall of 7.2 mm and 2.4 mm. Similarly, Kupwara, Kukernag and Gulmarg received 1.0 mm, 9.8 mm and 3.8 mm of rainfall respectively.
In Jammu division, Baderwah, Banihal and Batote recorded an overnight rains of 9.4 mm, 0.5 mm and 0.6 mm.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar on Saturday was settled at 5.4 degrees celsius while as Jammu and Leh saw a minimum of 18.5 and -1.3 degrees.
Maximu temperatures in Srinagar, Jammu and Leh are expected to settle at 17 degrees, 32 degrees and 16 degrees celsius respectively on Saturday.
