MeT predicts light rains for next 24 hours

Srinagar:The meteorological department here has forecasted light rains and thundershowers at a few places over the state for next 24 hours.

Further, the weather department has predicted dry weather in its outlook for subsequent two days.

The maximum temperature in Srinagar on Saturday was recorded as 17.8 degrees celsius while as in Jammu it was 33.7 degrees celsius.

Officials said Srinagar received traces of rainfall from 8:30 am from 5:30 pm on Saturday whereas Qazigund, Pahalgam and Kukernag recorded a rainfall of 10.4 mm, 0.2 mm and 7.4 mm respectively.

In Jammu division, only Baderwah received a rainfall of 0.6 mm on Saturday. There was no rainfall recorded in other districts of Jammu since morning, according to the MeT officials.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Srinagar and Jammu on Sunday are likely to hover around 21 & 7 degrees, and 36 & 18 degrees celsius respectively, almost 4 notches above Saturday’s temperature.
