Mir concerned over plight of political prisoners

Srinagar: Chairman of KLF(H) Javaid Ahmad Mir has demanded immediate shifting of Kashmiri prisoners languishing in jails outside the state.
Expressing serious concern over the plight of Kashmiri prisoners languishing in different jails at Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jharkhand, and Tihar for over the past 14-22 years, Mir appealed the   World Red Cross Society, Amnesty International, and European Human Rights groups to use their good offices for redeeming the sufferings of these prisoners.
Mir said that political prisoners from Kashmir are not differentiated from criminals in these jails.  He said that jail authorities have instructions from top authorities to harass Kashmiri political prisoners. He said that Kashmiri prisoners in outside jails were living in horrible conditions as the temperature in these places was hovering around 45 degrees Celsius.
Mir also sought legal assistance to political prisoners, who were being denied the same. He alleged that the detainees face mental and physical torture and have no facility of radio or newspaper available to them.  He said that canteen facility available to prisoners too has been withdrawn by the jail authorities.
