SRINAGAR: Muslim Khawateen Markaz staged a protest here on Tuesday against the civilian killings and the alleged molestation of a school girl in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The protest, held at the Press Enclave, was led by Yasmeen Raja.
The protesters were carrying placards and shouting slogans.
“New Delhi is intimidating Kashmiris in one or the other way. We are not going to tolerate this. Delhi should realise the ground realities in Kashmir,” Raja said.
“We are against the recent killings of Kashmiri people and want the BJP and RSS to stop the genocide of Kashmiri people. The policy of BJP and RSS won’t live long,” she said.
They accused the army of molesting the girl.
The protesters also condemned the harassment of Kashmiri students in and outside the Valley, terming it “propaganda against Kashmiri students”.
They said the government should ensure security of Kashmir students. The New Delhi-based media should also give up its biased approach, they added.
