UJC warns of ‘serious repercussions’

SRINAGAR: United Jihad Council (UJC), a conglomerate of militant outfits operative in Kashmir, on Tuesday condemned the “growing harassment of Kashmiri students across various India, oppression by Indian forces, killing of youth, and violation of chastity of women in Kashmir”.
In a statement issued here, UJC general secretary, Sheikh Jameel ur Rehman said some communal elements in India were “shamelessly staging drama” over the NIT Srinagar issue and the students were being “exploited” for “petty political gains”.
“It is not hidden from anyone that India considers all the Kashmiri employees, from labourer to chief secretary, as traitors and pro-freedom,” he said, and warned of serious repercussions if no end is put to such “anti-Kashmir” approach by India.
