Battle of brains in Vodafone quiz contest

Jammu: Encouraging students in J&K to put on their thinking caps, Vodafone J&K circle on Monday organised the ‘Vodafone quiz contest’ for students of Government College for Women, Parade Ground here in the college campus.
The hour-long Vodafone Quiz Contest saw participating students engage in a ‘battle of brains’ to emerge as the smartest amongst their peers, a statement issued by the telecom operator said.
“Based on a screening test organised earlier by the college, six teams comprising two participants each were shortlisted for the contest. The six teams were tested on their knowledge, awareness and quick thinking ability as they competed across four engaging rounds,” the statement added.
Business Head, J&K, Punjab and HP, Vodafone India, Pushpinder S Gujral, said, “At Vodafone, we believe in inspiring the youth to challenge themselves to be the best. A quiz is an excellent platform which allows students to showcase their knowledge, presence of mind and mental capabilities which are necessary to succeed in the competitive world. We are happy with today’s quiz and plan to hold more such quizzes across colleges in J&K in the near future.”
He said the constant was Vodafone’s endeavour to engage with the youth in a meaningful manner.
Vodafone, as per the statement, also organised a ‘Vodafone Free Service Camp’ for college students in the college. At the service camp, Vodafone executives answered queries of the students and helped in resolving issues related to the handset or service provider. The executives also spread awareness amongst the students about the various useful apps for college going students. “As a goodwill gesture, Vodafone executives at the ‘Vodafone Free Service Camp’ gave scratch protector mobile stickers, pen-key chain set along with complementary card as free gifts to the students,” the statement added.
Out of the six participating teams, the Vodafone Quiz Contest saw the team of Muqbeen Khan and Surbhi Badyal emerging as winners. The winning team was awarded certificate of merit and Vodafone goodies by Principal, Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Dr. Renu Goswamy, who was the chief guest on the occasion. Officials from Vodafone and Dr Jyotsna Mohan, Dean Academics, Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu were also present.
