Kangan:-Residents of Yachama on Monday blocked Srinagar-Leh highway at Kangan in central kashmir’s Ganderbal District protesting against the authorities for failing to complete bridge on river sindh causing hardships to everyone.
Hundreds of vehicles, the commuters including school children, employees had to face hardship due tor blockade of Road.
Protesters said The bridge is awaiting completion for last over 11-years due to which the local residents are facing immense hardships.
The bridge is located over Nallah Sindh and connects far flung areas of Yachama area with Tehsil headquarter Kangan and is a vital connecting link with the Srinagar-Leh highway.
After the bridge was damaged the construction was started on it in 2005, but over 11-years after it remains incomplete.
The work continued for years and is incomplete since then,” said a protester Firdous Ahmad.
We apprised the senior functionaries in the administration about the issue, but they failed to do anything substantial in this regard.
Protest were going on when last report came in.
