Progress impossible without addressing Kashmir, says Hurriyat (M)

SRINAGAR: Reacting to the suspension of talks between India and Pakistan, chairman Hurriyat Conference (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Friday said the dialogue process between two countries cannot move forward until they address the basic issue of Kashmir.
Addressing a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid Srinagar, Mirwaiz urged the political leadership of the India and Pakistan to “take advantage of the political climate developing in the region”.
“Both countries need to show vision and farsightedness by taking steps to resolve Kashmir and all other outstanding issues,” he said. He, however, hoped that the dialogue process would move ahead, saying the Kashmiri people have always stood for cordial relations between New Delhi and Islamabad.
