SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Friday said the talks between India and Pakistan were suspended due to “non-seriousness” of India.
“We are not surprised about the cancellation of talks, as India is not at all serious and is not showing any kind of flexibility. So, the situation is not surprising for us,” a spokesman of the conglomerate said in a statement issued here.
“What is the fun of having any kind dialogue if India doesn’t accept the disputed nature of J&K? This country is adopting unrealistic approach and is consuming time to lower down the international pressure mounting on it,” he said.
Meanwhile, the conglomerate also condemned the harassment of Kashmiri students in an engineering college in Jammu.
The conglomerate warned authorities of serious consequences if anything untoward happened to Kashmiri students.
Hurriyat (G) also condemned its chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s detention after returning from New Delhi.
He was again put under house arrest and barred from offering Friday prayers, the spokesman said.
“Government again deployed police and men in civil around Geelani Sahib’s office-cum-residence with a police vehicle placed at the entrance of main gate,” he said and condemned the government action.
