SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference (M) on Saturday warned the government of India of serious repercussions if the Kashmiri students studying outside state were not given adequate protection or their careers damaged.
A spokesman of the conglomerate, in a statement issued here, condemned the attack on Kashmiri students in Jammu engineering college and Dental College Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
He also condemned the desecration of martyrs’ graveyard at Karimabad, Pulwama, saying, “Such sacrilegious act is done to undermine the sacrifices of martyrs and to provoke the people.”
He extended support to Pulwama people’s peaceful protest demonstration.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has condemned the incident in Aalsidora, Veerinag wherein government forces forcefully entered the residence of Abdul Gani Naik and assaulted him and his family which led to his death.
Expressing sympathy with Naik’s family, Mirwaiz prayed for eternal peace to the deceased and forbearance to the bereaved family.
As per statement, senior leader of the amalgam Mukhtar Ahmad Waza participated in the deceased’s Nimaz-e-Jinazah and protests organised by the locals against the forces.
