Srinagar: Vistara, a joint venture of Tata and Singapore Airlines, on Thursday commenced its service to Srinagar by taking its inaugural flight from New Delhi’s IGI Airport at 14.45 hrs.
The India’s fastest growing full service carrier also introduced seven weekly direct flights from Delhi to Srinagar, and a daily flight from Delhi to Jammu via Srinagar starting from Apr 9, 2016.
Speaking on the latest network expansion, CEO Vistara, PheeTeik Yeoh said, “With growing market presence and phenomenal customer uptake, we are broadening our window of operations in order to operate more flights to cater to the increasing demand. Vistara has been keen to enhance regional connectivity and is committed to connect India better. Srinagar offers huge potential in terms of tourism and we are delighted to announce the expansion of our network with daily return flights to Srinagar from Delhi. We are confident that travelers on this route will appreciate the unique value proposition we offer at a competitive price.”
Vistara recently announced commencement of services to Jammu, Kochi and Chandigarh. The introduction of these new routes coincides with the airline’s next phase of expansion, where the focus is on scaling up operations and elevating the value proposition to suit the demands of the existing and potential customers in new regions.
