SRINAGAR: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu Kashmir (TeH) on Sunday condemned a spree of arrests of youth during nocturnal raids in Qaimoh area of Kulgam in south Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, a party spokesman alleged that police, its Special Operations Group (SOG) and soldiers of Indian army conducted nocturnal raids in Qaimoh and arrested several youths.
“They also harassed the people,” the statement said.
“The arrestees include Feroz Ahmad Itoo, son of Muhammad Amin Itoo, Shakir Ahmad Itoo, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Itoo, Muzamil Ahmad Itoo, son of Ghulam Qadir Itoo, and Irshad Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Rasool Sheikh,” the spokesman said, adding that Feroz Ahmad Itoo’s brother, Khurshid Ahmad Itoo, was also arrested by NIA few months ago, and “the whole family has been subjected to worst kind of suppression”.
“Also three youth of Arwani, Kulgam have been booked under PSA. These arrests are based on political vengeance,” he said.
