Social issues highlighted in police public meet in Tral

SRINAGAR: As part of its “efforts to improve police public relations”, police on Sunday organised a public meet at Town Hall, Tral, in south Kashmir. The meet was chaired by DC Pulwama Niraj Kumar and SP Awantipora Shridhar Patil.
As per a statement issued here, the participants highlighted various issues including drug abuse, social crimes, stalking, and civil administration related problems faced by the general public. They were assured timely remedy of their grievances.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Awantipora said police is meant to serve general public who are free to visit any police establishment at any time. He sought support and co-operation of general public for eradication of social crimes in the area.
DC Pulwama and SP Awantipora handed over a memento to a youth Umer Nisar, son of Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Check Noorpora, Awantipora, who has recently launched PANUN FM INTERNATIONAL “which is a big achievement”.
Sub-district magistrate, Tehsildar, SHO Police Station and other police officials of the district were also present on the occasion.
