SRINAGAR: Department of Immunology and Molecular Medicine in association with Beckman Coulter India Ltd. organised a one-day seminar on flow cytometry at SKIMS.
As per an official handout issued here, HOD Immunology and Molecular Medicine and organising chairman, Dr Zaffar A Shah briefed about application and use of Flowcytometry technique in patient care and research activities at the institute.
He said the technique has a leading role in research activities and patient car as it provides rapid analysis of single cell and is used in cell analysis, cell counting, cell sorting, protein engineering, and other research-based activities.
“SKIMS is in possession of two Flowcytometres which is largely benefitting the poor patients. The technique is both economical and user friendly,” he said.
Director SKIMS Dr Showkat A Zargar hailed Dr Zaffar for his “efforts and dedication for patient care and academic and research activities”. “Dr Zaffar has generated whopping grant for establishing cancer diagnostic lab,” he said.
