Missing Anantnag boy’s body found in waterway

Anantnag: The body of four-year-old Ayaan Hamid Wani, who had gone missing from the house of a relative in an Anantnag village on March 22, was retrieved from a waterway on Saturday.
A few local residents had spotted Ayaan’s feet in the muddy waters of the waterway behind a school at Sarnal, Anantnag, which is a mile away from Paibugh, Pehroo, where Ayaan went missing.
The residents had informed the police, who later took the body for post mortem at the district hospital Anantnag.
“We had searched the same waterway for many days but could find nothing. We won’t let the police rest till they find the actual cause of his death,” said one of Ayaan’s paternal uncles.
The parents of Ayaan had been going through a strained relationship for the past couple of months but both ruled out any foul play.
A police official told Kashmir Reader that as of now it can’t be said whether it is death by drowning or murder.
